*grin*
...for The Busy Bean's month in the NewBee quilting bee. I was inspired by Jack and the artwork of The Nightmare Before Christmas, along with the illustrations of Bill Peet. I love Bill Peet! I can't show you everything because I just posted this to Colleen today. I'd like her to get the first view... I tried applique, paper-piecing (and seam ripping - ugh!), and even a bit of wonky. I also added in an ode to the cross blocks that have been so popular around blogland. I'm pretty happy with the results, though I've decided I have a lot to learn about paper-piecing. I'll clue you in on my adventure with that once Colleen gets her block.
p.s. I don't know if this is typical or not, but it took me 7.5 hours to do just this one block. I drew up my block weeks ago and had it segmented into 4 parts. Two parts were paper-pieced; two simply pieced; and I added the applique on top. That paper-piecing...grrrr! That's what took me forever and a day to finish --- that, and I was going to battle with a limited amount of fabric. *grin*
